Boston Scholars Program Fundraiser to be held March 13

Boston, MA -- Saturday, March 13 the Boston Scholars Program will be holding its first annual spring fundraiser at Lucky's Lounge.

The Boston Scholars Program is one of the most exciting local non-profits in Boston, having started only in the past year and already assembled a top notch board of advisors, conducted outreach with hundreds of students and received about 40 applications for a scholarship and mentoring from Boston students.

Rob Higby, Executive Director, reaffirmed that "the Boston Scholars Program has accomplished so much, so quickly. I am just so proud of the amazing team we have assembled, and cannot wait to showcase our success to the energetic group we're hosting on Saturday night." The Boston Scholars program board of advisors is comprised of top Boston influencers in the business and non-profit community, including Carol F. Anderson, Board of Directors, Boston Foundation; Howard Anderson, Managing Partner, YankeeTek Ventures; Carrie Maille Hickey, Executive Director, Mother Caroline Academy; John H. Finley, IV, Executive Director, Epiphany School; Rev. James F. Lafontaine, Executive Director, Nativity Preparatory School; and John B. Pearson, President and CEO, Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay.

"To have received 40 applications without a long history of involvement in the community proves the value of our model and our mission, as well as the need for the Boston Scholars Program" according to Ann Mittelstadt, Director of Admissions.

Mike Volpe, Director of Marketing, said "the response from the Boston community has been substantial. To have over 100 people RSVP for our benefit party without having spent a dime of our donor's money demonstrates the groundswell of interest we have received." "And the response from our sponsors has been great as well, starting with Lucky's Lounge hosting our event and places like Thorny Lea Country Club and Dog Day Afternoons donating amazing prizes for our raffle," added Eva Higby, Director of Events and the organizer of the event at Lucky's Lounge.

Members of the press are encouraged to call Mike Volpe at 617-308-9394 to be added to our VIP list for the event.
