Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay - Boston, MA

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bays mission is to promote the healthy
development of children through the nurturing of continuing, one-to-one
friendships with caring responsible adults, supported by trained professional
staff. Recently, Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay began an Educational
Advocacy program to enhance the educational opportunities available
to little brothers, and our partnership with Boston Scholars program

Boys
& Girls Club of Boston - Boston, MA

The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) is to help boys
and girls, generally from disadvantaged circumstances, develop the qualities
needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. To achieve this,
they offer a variety of program activities and support services designed
to assist in the educational, emotional, physical and social development
of six to 18-year-olds, without regard to social, racial, ethnic, or
religious background.
Citizen

Since 1995 Citizen Schools has built a creative and effective learning
model that addresses community needs while building student skills through
hands-on experiential learning activities. Citizen Schools operates
a National Network of apprenticeship programs for youth that connects
middle school students with adult volunteers in hands-on learning. At
Citizen Schools, students develop the academic and leadership skills
they need to do well in school, get into college, and become leaders
in their careers and in their communities.
Edwards

The Edwards Middle School offers students an exciting and demanding
academic program, and a school wide focus on performing arts and youth
leadership. They are the school of choice for middle school students
interested in the Arts; their core curriculum includes classes in instrumental
and vocal music, theater, dance, and visual arts. Hundreds of students
participate in after school programs, which includes activities such
as Citizen Schools, academic tutoring, robotics, sports, band, drama,
and community service.

Caroline Academy and Educational Center - Dorchester, MA

Mother Caroline Academy and Education Center serves financially limited
middle school girls through formal schooling, Boston-area adults through
their ongoing education program, and third and fourth graders through
their Shining Star program where they provide after-school instruction
with the intent of progressing these girls to the Academy. Established
in 1993, the founders of MCAEC envisioned a nurturing and rigorous middle
school for inner city girls. Since celebrating its tenth year in April,
2003, MCAEC continues to dream of and create new opportunities and futures
for the community that has embraced our vision and connected themselves
to our mission.
Nativity

Nativity Prep is a Jesuit middle school dedicated to providing a quality,
tuition-free education to boys of all faiths from low-income families
in Boston's inner-city neighborhoods. Staffed by lay and Jesuit volunteers
who work closely with students' families, the school provides an academically
challenging and highly structured environment to boys who have demonstrated
the potential and desire to handle a demanding academic program designed
to prepare them for success in high schools and in college. Nativity
Prep works to inspire in students a love of learning, an awareness of
their own interests and ideas, a fundamental understanding of culture,
and an abiding sense of responsibility to their community.
New
England Citybridge - Concord, MA

New England Citybridge is a tuition-free program of summer and year-round
academic enrichment that has been in residence at Concord Academy since
1993. Each summer, twelve talented college students teach fifty motivated
rising eighth and ninth graders from Boston and Cambridge public schools.
During the academic year, approximately twenty-five volunteers and Concord
Academy students tutor and mentor our eighth grade students. The Citybridge
program values diversity, leadership, creativity, and academic excellence.
Students and teachers share a love of learning, work hard, play hard,
develop leadership skills, and have fun in the process.
Roxbury
Preparatory Charter School - Roxbury, MA

Roxbury Preparatory Charter School, a public school that serves grades

Academy Nine, Steppingstone's newest initiative, is designed to identify
underserved seventh graders and prepare them to enter and succeed at
Boston's top independent and public exam schools in the ninth grade.
Success at these schools opens doors previously unimagined to the Scholars.
And by succeeding, both in and out of the classroom, the Scholars change
their own lives, positively impact the schools which they attend, and
open doors for Scholars who follow.
Timilty

Timilty teachers employ Connected Math Curriculum, Readers' and Writers'
Workshop, inquiry-based science lessons, and rigorous curricula in all
subject areas. All Timilty students prepare Science Fair projects and
correspond with writing mentors, their Promising Pals, four times a
year. The Timilty offers a Saturday program to assist students in meeting
English/Language Arts and Math benchmarks or in preparing for the ISEE.
