Boston Scholars Program Selects 2008 Scholars

More than three dozen eighth graders applied to join the Boston Scholars Class of 2008, and the Boston Scholars Program volunteers conducted two dozen interviews before selecting twelve final candidates. These Boston Scholars demonstrate the need, talent, and dedication that will make them successful Boston Scholars.

Boston Scholars Program Spring Fundraiser is a Huge Success

Lucky's Lounge was filled to capacity March 13 as more than 200 guests gathered for the Boston Scholars Program's first fundraiser, which generated over $6000 for the program.

Eva Higby, Boston Scholars Program Director and the organizer of the event said that "we expected over 100 people and we ended up having more than double that amount. Everyone brought their friends since it is such a great cause to support, and certainly our ability to throw a fun party helped as well."

Guests, including business leaders, educators, graduate students, and socialites enjoyed live music and cocktails while showing their support for the BSP's mission. "I'm so glad the Boston Scholars Program was created. We're having a great time tonight," said Ginna Gauntner, a teacher
at Mother Caroline Academy, a partner school of the Boston Scholars Program.

Pictures of the event and further details can be found on our website.

Thanks to everyone who made the evening such a success!
